2017 ACCESS for ELLs Testing
The Virginia Department of Education requires the annual testing of all English Language Learners using an assessment called ACCESS for ELLS. This test assesses the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of students who have been identified as English Language Learners (ELLs). This test takes approximately three days to administer and will be given at Marumsco Hills between January 9, 2017 and March 31, 2017. Your child’s English as a Second Language (ESOL) teacher will administer the test to your child. The test results will be available to all schools in the spring. A copy of your child’s individual test scores will be sent home to you when they are received.
Please help your child prepare for the test by getting a good night's sleep, eating breakfast, and arriving to school on time.
If you have any questions in regards to the ACCESS test, please feel free to contact your child’s ESOL teacher. We appreciate your ongoing support of our ESOL Program and your child’s education.
