Dear Marumsco Hills Families,

My name is Christopher Knighting and I am so excited to be returning as your Assistant Principal for the 2021- 2022 school year. This will be my seventh year working at Marumsco Hills Elementary! Every day I come to work and am surrounded by wonderful people who put learning first. Our parents are supportive, students eager and employees professional. I am proud to be part of the MHES family!

I have a wealth of knowledge and experience at the elementary level. I attended James Madison University to gain my teaching certification in elementary education and continued to Virginia Commonwealth University to receive my masters in Educational Leadership. I taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades for 12 years, in Spotsylvania and Prince William County Public Schools.

Since being appointed to Marumsco Hills in 2015, I have learned so much from my experiences. I helped to initiate our PBIS program (Eagle P.R.I.D.E.), have maintained high expectations in student learning and have been the Special Education Administrator for our building. I believe that every child has great potential and I look forward to doing everything needed to help our students be successful.

I am happily married to Aliessa, my wife of nineteen years and have two children, Adison who is 17 and Emma who is now 14. They are growing older quickly and we enjoy spending time together. In my free time I love to spend time in the mountains, do home improvements and work on my antique truck.
