Greetings Marumsco Hills Families! My name is Teresa Thornton, and I am honored to be the new Administrative Intern at Marumsco Hills for the 2023-2024 school year. I have been an educator for several years in PWCS. During this time, I have served in several leadership roles to support daily instruction, student performance, staff development, and served as the Lead Mentor to support novice teachers. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Delaware State University, a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from University of Phoenix, and recently completed my Reading Specialist Certification through Shenandoah University. I’m a Dallas Cowboy fan and I enjoy playing volleyball, traveling, decorating, and spending time with family and friends. As the Administrative Intern, at MHES, some of my responsibilities include supervising and supporting instructional staff and students in all areas of instruction and providing a safe and welcoming learning environment. One of my goals is to lead by example by modeling what a leader looks and sounds like, in hopes that I can empower and inspire others to do the same. I believe that when you provide a positive and culturally responsive school environment, you can build relationships and make connections with parents, staff, and students while meeting the needs of all learners.
